Project Overview
The Tanakpur Bus Terminal is envisioned as a state-of-the-art transit hub that meets the evolving transportation needs of the region while promoting local character and sustainable urban development. Strategically positioned as a key gateway to Kumaon and adjoining areas, the terminal prioritizes efficient traffic flow, commuter comfort, and aesthetic appeal. The design includes dedicated bus bays, ample parking, auto and taxi stands, and well-marked drop-off zones. Internally, it will feature ticket counters, waiting lounges, restrooms, food courts, and retail kiosks, ensuring a seamless travel experience
Project Proposal
Blending tradition with functionality, the terminal’s architecture incorporates local materials such as wood and stone, enriched with intricate carvings and regional decorative elements. The building also houses a hotel on the upper floors and a shopping area at the lower level, enhancing its mixed-use value. With a stone-clad façade and traditional detailing, the terminal will stand as a cultural and functional landmark for the region
