“REVIVE” is the only shortlisted entry from India for the prestigious Bee Breeders Caramel Shore Traveler’s Cabin competition. This project reimagines the Latvian vernacular through a minimalist, immersive cabin design rooted in tradition and serenity. Nestled within Latvia’s pristine natural landscape, the cabin represents a soulful pause—blending introspection with simplicity.
Project Proposal
The design harmonizes modern minimalism with traditional Baltic architectural elements, offering spatial clarity, transparency, and warmth. Raised on a central structural core to minimize environmental impact, the cabin features full-height glazing that frames scenic views, a custom wood-lined interior, and energy-efficient radiant underfloor heating. At the heart of the layout is a compact spiral staircase leading to a cozy mezzanine sleeping loft, naturally lit by skylights. An extended timber deck and outdoor netting invite moments of stillness at sunrise and sunset, enhancing the experience of lakeside solitude. With a deep focus on thermal comfort, sustainable materials, and sensory engagement, REVIVE creates a poetic and mindful retreat that honors both nature and tradition.
