Archdias Interior

Project Proposal

This interior design proposal, submitted for the Archdias competition, centers on the adaptive reuse of a nostalgic property in the holy city of Haridwar. Titled ā€œThe House I Told You Aboutā€¦ā€, the concept reimagines an ancestral home into a soulful modern retreat while preserving its emotional essence. The design strategy emphasizes minimal structural interventionā€”ā€œWhy break, let’s remake!ā€ā€”celebrating textures of lime plaster, sandstone, exposed brick, and warm wooden tones.

Spaces are planned with a harmonious blend of old-world charm and contemporary simplicity, using contextual materials like limestone flooring, woven partitions, and weathered oak finishes. Each room narrates a story, combining functionality with sentiment through curated furniture, soft lighting, and earthy color palettes. By layering memories with modern utility, the project pays homage to vernacular Indian identity while offering a refined aesthetic experience, making it a standout submission in the competition’s brief for meaningful interior transformation.
