Sukhatal

Project Overview

Sukhatal is a natural depression which probably was a lake in distant past but remains dry now for most of the year and this resulted in considerable encroachment and also dumping of debris and wastes. Thus, Rejuvenating the Sukhatal depression acts as a tourist destination spot and providing charming nightlife missing in Nainital.

Project Proposal

In order to overcome the issues of encroachments as well as aesthetics of it, vari­ous components such as provision of boundary wall covering and area of 22,000 m2, spillage arrangement, conveyance arrangement, Bed & side treatment, Shoreline developments, O.A.T, has been done. Recharging of rain water has also been done with the help of natural pond & infiltration wells after doing the hydrology study of the whole scheme.
