This proposal for the Bee Breeders competition addresses the evolving paradigm of urban living by reimagining the concept of “work from home” within dense tropical cities. Set in the Tara Housing complex in New Delhi, originally designed by Charles Correa, the design revitalizes existing urban typologies to support a LIVE–WORK–PLAY environment. The intervention includes adaptive shading devices, biophilic design strategies, and augmented reality integrations to enhance flexibility, comfort, and environmental response. Key features such as sunken courts and layered zones—play on the surface and workspaces below—enhance spatial use and microclimate performance.

The proposal envisions agile workspaces integrated into private residences with fixed desks and shared collaborative zones, promoting productivity and well-being. By blending traditional courtyard typologies with modern programmatic needs, the project offers a sustainable, inclusive, and adaptive model for future-ready neighbourhoods that nurture both living and working experiences in a post-pandemic world.
