Deen Dayal Park, Khatima

Project Overview

This micro-urban intervention demonstrates how even limited urban spaces can be reimagined into meaningful, accessible, and beautiful public environments. The park not only honors a national icon but also serves as a peaceful retreat for residents, enriching the social and cultural fabric of the neighborhood.

Project Proposal

The Deen Dayal Park project in Khatima transforms a small, underutilized 250 sq.m. space into a vibrant, inclusive public park. Designed as a tribute to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, the park features a prominently placed statue as its focal point, set against a landscaped backdrop of flowering plants and ornamental shrubs. The compact site is carefully organized with terraced seating, pedestrian-friendly pathways, and softscape elements that maximize utility while preserving aesthetics. Ample seating areas encourage rest and community interaction, while thoughtfully integrated lighting enhances safety and visual appeal, especially during evening hours.
