Project Overview
The project aims to transform a 1900-meter stretch beneath the flyover on NH-34 (Haridwar–Dehradun Road) into a vibrant public space. This underutilized urban void, located at Bhoopatwala in Haridwar, is surrounded by commercial establishments, ashrams, hotels, and temples.
Project Proposal
The proposal seeks to reinvent this neglected area through multi-functional zoning: a recreational zone with pet-friendly parks, amphitheatre, kids’ adventure area, food kiosks, and café seating; a commercial zone with markets below and hotels above; a cultural zone featuring open exhibition spaces, art and craft stalls, and performing arts areas; and a sports zone offering basketball courts, football fields, cricket nets, skate parks, outdoor gyms, and parking for cars and buses. The plan includes public amenities like toilets, walkways, street furniture, and sustainable materials. This beautification initiative supports the India Smart City Mission by creating inclusive, accessible, and engaging urban spaces for all age groups.
